Mediation and Arbitration Explained

Family Mediation is a voluntary, non-binding process in which an independent mediator facilitates discussion between parties to help them reach mutually acceptable agreements. The mediator does not impose a decision but assists parties in identifying issues, exploring options, and negotiating outcomes.

Family Arbitration is a binding process in which an independent arbitrator considers the evidence and submissions of the parties and renders a decision in accordance with applicable law and the terms agreed upon by the parties. Arbitration offers a private and structured alternative to court adjudication.

Both processes emphasize fairness, neutrality, and informed decision-making.
